DIELINE - Niche brands no longer have to rely on supermarkets.

Pop Up Grocer’s stores are about the size of your local bodega, cozier than a supermarket, and easier to shop. Locations get designed to feel like a market while creating an active and engaging shopping experience. While items such as shelving are packed up and used in every pop-up store, they enlisted craftspeople and artists to give every iteration a neighborhood vibe. In Venice, those local touches include custom lighting from Joseph Algieri and botanical art by Sophie Parker.

“Many of our fixtures are mainstays we take with us to each city, like our fridges and shelves," says Jennifer Levy, Design Lead for Pop Up Grocer. "To keep each shop fresh and exciting, we punctuate it with the integration of local artists and elements that feel native to the area."

Some of the brands available at the Venice location will be familiar to Dieline readers, such as Oilpop, Whoa! Dough, Strong Roots, Kin, Veil, Magic Spoon, and Oath. Pop Up Grocer is partnering with Highly Likely Cafe as an exclusive counter partner, who will provide cold brew and baked goods.
